About Us

About Sarah:

I am one of 7 children (3 brothers and 3 sisters) and I grew up in a small farming town in New Mexico. My family had cattle, horses, pigs, ducks, chickens, dogs, cats, and an occasional goat or turkey. Growing up I was very active in dance, sports, community theatre, 4-H, rodeo, and many other school clubs and activities.  Starting at a young age I learned to get along well with others, work hard, stay busy, manage my time wisely, ride horses and study.  I remember having to milk the goat before school early in the mornings.  I have two deaf brothers so I was fluent in sign language by 12 years of age. I graduated as valedictorian of my high school class, and then moved to the big city, Albuquerque, for college.  I bought a drum set after high school with some of my savings and tried to teach myself to play with “how to” books. I learned a few songs but never got good enough to join a girl band.  I have two college degrees and I currently works as a Physician Assistant in a Pediatric clinic and do part time work for a local urgent care on the side. I love dancing of all kinds, but tap dancing is my favorite.  I almost always enjoy a cheesy girl movie as long as I get to make comments all the way through it.  I believe in being physically and emotionally healthy and so I work out regularly and eat my veggies.  I like yoga, elephants, butterflies, bright colors, and painting toe nails.  I really enjoy nature and being outside so I find joy in activities like hiking, kite flying, camping, horseback riding, and playing in the park. I love to sing out loud in my car to the stereo. I don’t have one, but I really dig motorcycles.  I moved to Phoenix to work at a Spanish speaking pediatric clinic in an underserved community, because service to community and quality healthcare for the poor or less fortunate is something I feel very strongly about.  I love babies and children, and I’m learning to love teenagers too now that I am a leader of a girls youth group through my church. I always wanted to have lots of babies from the time I was a little girl and that was one of the reasons I choose pediatrics as my career so I could be around them all day.

About Nate:

I am the second of eight children, and the oldest boy. I come from a close knit family. We lived in several states, but I grew up mostly in Missouri, in a small town called Kirksville. Growing up I played a lot of sports including baseball, basketball, wrestling, and track. I dreamed of being a major league baseball player, but then I realized that I wasn’t very good. I also liked to read a lot. From a young age, up through high school, I read just about everything I could get my hands on. I think that my love of reading started when my parents would read books to me and my siblings when I was a little kid, such as Huckleberry Finn and Where the Red Fern Grows.

After high school I went to college at Brigham Young University, in Utah, and studied computer science. I took time off during college to spend two years in Brazil doing missionary work. I managed to get through college in only seven years! :)  After graduating from college I moved to Phoenix to work as a software engineer. I worked in the software field for about seven years, and then got into real estate full time, which I have been doing ever since.

As an adult, I enjoy being married to my wonderful wife, Sarah, and spending time with her. We try to go out on an official date at least once a week, but we also enjoy other activities and just hanging out. I still play sports and read books, although not as much as when I was young. I also enjoy singing, despite the fact that I thought choir was for sissies when I was a kid. I didn’t find out how much I enjoyed singing until I was an adult.

I am looking forward to having a child. I am a little nervous, but mostly excited, about the opportunity to be a parent and make a difference in someone’s life.
